If you did not know, I am a restaurant manager in Tennessee. Sometimes my schedule calls for me to go in at 7:00 Am, 10:00 AM, and sometimes 3:00 PM. Now I am not complaining because I love my children and I would give my life for them….BUT……Sometimes I feel like the prey in a lion’s cage! As soon as I make a move from my bed for that 7:00 AM shift they are on me like a mighty lion toying with his prey…Hey daddy what are you doing? I am getting ready for work. So I get into the shower and by the time I get out the lioness is up and circling around….Hey daddy where are you going? I have to go to work. As I am getting dressed for work they are a little more active now and they are running through the house arguing and banging on stuff. They have now started waking up the head lioness and she wants quiet and getting very agitated. Oh boy my pulse is racing now. Mommy, Mommy we are hungry can we get a snack? It is 5:30 in the morning go back to sleep! I can’t sleep I am hungry! At this time I am hurrying to get finished because I know what’s coming! I know that they are coming for me next and then I hear those words….” Ask Your father to get your breakfast.” Now I have to drive 45 mins to work and am at that limit now so here they come running down the hall…..OMG I have to hurry I haven’t even got my shoes on, I have sweat dripping off of my brow from the hot shower, and I feel like I have just ran a marathon with everything going on! So I quickly fix them the breakfast that they want so they will not EAT me! I then grab my keys and hug them bye. That is never good though you have to hug them twice once for the one that asks for another hug and once so the other one’s feelings are not hurt! I get to the door and step outside lock it behind me and………RELAX…….I made it! I survived another trip to the lion’s den and now all I have to do is go to work!
