It is 6:00 AM do you know where your kids are? My wife and I rotate getting up with the kids when we can. Sometimes I have to work in the mornings so she has to but for the most part we try to take turns. Let me just tell you….it can be a huge chess match at my house. The kids have to be up and at the bus stop about an hour before they are scheduled for school. So we get them up about an hour prior to that….or TRY! My son can be a bundle of joy depending on when he finally fell asleep. So you just have to ease into his room and be really nice to him to start his day…not the normal IT’s TIME TO GET UP!!! He’s not having that! You are setting yourself up for the morning war before coffee if you know what I mean. Once he is up though he gets dressed by himself and combs his hair. He then gets his school agenda for us to sign in the proper places and waits for breakfast. Great Helper!
Lets now talk about THE PRINCESS! You have to first trick her to get any reaction from her at all….example…I am about to leave you had better give me a hug. Score one for me Not only did she get up an come to me but I got an outstanding best hug ever! Now during the hug you have to pick her up and stand her on the floor as you are completing the hug. Her eyes are still closed so you haven’t won anything yet! At this point, You ask her to get dressed and off she goes…VICTORY!!!!! NOT YET!!! a few minutes go by and it is time to find out how she is coming along. WHERE IS SHE? Let me tell you, I have found her in the closet asleep, by the bed asleep, on the steps asleep, on the couch asleep, under her bed asleep, and her best hiding spot is matching the curve of her mother’s body completely covered up by the blanket. After your hunt is over and you can get her dressed she never knows where her shoes are. So the hunt is on again as we find one in the living room and one under her bed because that is where we asked her to put them! It kind of lightens up after that and she is ready for breakfast now.
After breakfast everyone heads outside and we walk up to the bus stop. These children now are excited and in great moods and ready for the day to start. They get on the arriving bus and it is time to go back inside the house and get a little more sleep before getting ready for work only to just drift off and have the alarm clock sound to start YOUR DAY!
