So I go to the doctor yesterday because I am gaining a little weight quicker than I have in the past and I have been having these dreams lately that I am exercising or doing strenuous activities that make my heart race. So I am thinking maybe sleep Apnoea. I go in and the nurse starts asking questions like, Do You snore? Well I can’t say for sure but I have been told that before. Do you stop breathing while you sleep? *CRICKETS* I don’t really know how to answer that at this time! What are some of your other symptoms? Well I am 352 pounds, I was told my oxygen level was down a bit at my last hospital stay to an 85, my dreams feel like my heart is beating out of my chest, and I have been starting to doze a bit during the day when n0t moving around. These are symptoms that I can guarantee. So luckily it was enough to get her to send in the doctor and he quickly agreed that we need to do a sleep study just to check but also to check some other things as far as blood work goes. So I thanked him and he started setting up the sleep study and on the way out I said hey Doc….give them a heads up that I may snore a bit when I sleep!
So we did some blood work and now waiting on the results and I guess now that I am 40, I should probably start losing a few pounds and heading the other direction. I am sure that my sleep problems are coming from sleep Apnoea but it all stems from the few little extra pounds that I have put on. So I guess I will put on my running shoes and really get that heart pumping….maybe this time the dreams will come because I am passing out from all of that real exercise…although I was pretty fit in my dreams!!
