Goodness….I will bet you thought I was dead and gone! Nope…you are not that lucky. I had a little surgery and was out of work for about a month and just got started back good. It all started when I had worked several days in a row and finally had gotten to my two days off. Kas and I were both not feeling very well but I still had to go in to work and just take a conference call and then come back home. I went right back and laid beside Kas and started getting a fever. On my second day off, I went in to work again to help with a truck delivery early that morning. I really started feeling bad then and my fever got worse. I again went back home and got back into the bed hoping to sweat out the remainder of the fever before the morning when I had to open at work. Well, I got up that morning and could barely walk, stand, sit, or balance myself. The lights at work were even making me sick. I finished getting things opened up and then put my head on the desk to try and gain my composure again. I finally called another manager and he came in within the hour to relieve me. I had Kas meet me outside at the house to drive me to the doctor because I just couldn’t sit or focus. I had a lot of pain now coming from my lower back…if you know what I mean….It wasn’t really internal it felt more like on the flesh like maybe I had been bitten by something….all I know is that I had never had this problem before and Big Daddy did not care for it one bit!!! So, I let the doctor check it out but I wanted to be sent away from this small town to a specialist because…well who wants everyone in town to know what your backside looks like. My doctor said that it was an abscess and that it needed to be seen by a surgeon. So, I went to this specialist on a Friday afternoon and I had to be his last patient of the day because I was in and out in 10 mins with a total different diagnosis and some useless medicine. I then went back home…at this time I am lying down in the back seat with chills from the fever that I had. The entire weekend I could only lay on my side and do the fever hot and cold game in pain like you couldn’t imagine. First thing Monday morning, I was back in my doctors office because all weekend I could feel this thing growing and it almost reached my spine….this totally freaked me out….I thought I might be paralyzed or that they might have to cut part of my butt off…LOL…it sounds funny now but that’s what I was thinking. When the doctor came in to see me, he started rethinking his diagnosis because the GREAT SPECIALIST said that he was wrong. So, I did get put on medicine for the pain and two antibiotics and he said that I should be able to return to work on Thursday. Well, Thursday came and I felt worse than ever. I still had the fever and the pain was only halted for an hour with medicine that you could take every four hours.I went back to my doctor and he looked at me and sent me straight to the hospital. I got there and they admitted me right then. Later the surgeon came in and said that he did not see anything to operate on but he would check on me in the morning. Early the next morning, which is now a week after original doctor visit, we find out that the original diagnosis by my doctor was FACT and that the GREAT SPECIALIST was an idiot. The surgeon said that he saw the abscess and that we were going into surgery to get it. We did just that. I got out of the hospital the following Monday feeling so much better every day. I was released to go back to work on April 2nd. I was so excited because I had watched everything that you could imagine on TV. Thank God for March Madness! Men, Women, and NIT basketball saved me from going crazy. So April 2nd came and I went back to work. Being back on the tile floor after not even walking for a month made me really sore. I was so happy to be back to work, I didn’t mind that kind of pain. That night, my son and I had gathered some things to take down stairs and I was walking really carefully because I was so sore. My foot slid off of the carpeted step and I went 300 pounds plus straight down on my tail bone. My son freaked out and ran to get Mama. I just laid there for a minute catching my breath and got up. Luckily my schedule had me off for the next two days so I was back in bed on my side for my days off. I went back to work on Thursday and believe it or not fell at work too…..I have not fallen in like 15 years or something….what are the odds!!!! Anyway all is well and hopefully I can stay on my feet and off my rear.
