Let me be the first to tell you that the Flu is no joke and it ain’t cheap either! Last Wednesday, the Type B Flu entered our household and it took us by storm! It started with our youngest Isabella. She stayed at home Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from school. Isabella’s brother Gabriel got sick at school on Wednesday so he stayed home Thursday and Friday. Well it didn’t stop with the kids….Momma went down for the count as well. So, here I am in a house full of the Flu just waiting my turn to get sick. I ended up taking everyone to the doctor on Friday morning and that is when we found out for sure what the problem was….Type B Flu….so, our doctor prescribed Tamiflu for everyone including myself as well as a couple of cough medicines to help ease the hacking that was going on all night every night!
As we left the doctor’s office I checked us all out and had a copay of $25 a piece….Not me….so $75 was spent at the doctor’s office. He had called in our prescriptions across the street so we headed there to get the Gatorade, Sprite, Soups, etc…that all go with being as sick as everyone was. After I get everything that I need, I step to the Pharmacy and he immediately says that he received the prescriptions from the doctor but they were going to be $105….I said OK that’s not too bad for all of what we needed….he said that is just the Tamiflu…..it is $105…..EACH….I start doing the math…there are four of us….Is that with insurance….Yes sir…..well how much is the cough medicine?…around $48…..I think that we will get Flu shots next year!
