Kas and I went to view a sneak peek of Divergent the other night. I am now excited to read the books as well as see the next movie. I was on the edge of my seat through most of the movie.
It is a story where the world has changed and the need for labels in society, to keep the peace, has taken place. There are five groups that people belong to.The groups are Abriegation (Selfless), Amity (peaceful),Candor(honest), Dauntless (brave), and Erudite (intelligent). When you reach a certain age you must be tested. After your test, you may choose which of the five that you will want to join. You can never go back once the choice has been made. There IS one other thing that you can be….DIVERGENT.
Tris is on a mission to find herself but runs into a huge obstacle along the way. Check out the trailer!
I feel like I am Divergent because I have a little of all of those traits listed above. I am just the opposite though. I feel like I can fit in with just about anyone. This is a great movie for everyone. It shows that it really is okay to be different and that you can stand up for your beliefs and your rights. You do not have to be the same as everyone else. Be different and be proud. Show the world that we don’t need all of the negative labels. We can all be in this together.
In a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late.
Based on the worldwide bestselling novel by Veronica Roth, DIVERGENT is directed by Neil Burger, with a screenplay by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor. DIVERGENT arrives in theaters & IMAX nationwide March 21, 2014.
