I am finally back to work after a month of Surgery and rehab for my knee. Now, of course, my time off started with the worst ice storm in years on the day of my surgery. Not to mention, the 3 more winter weather events during my time off. So I was just stuck in the house most of my time off. I have never binge watched so many TV shows in my life. I had the worst case of cabin fever ever.
It’s now work time again and the weather is showing signs of Spring. The temps have been in the seventies some this week and people are out cutting grass, riding bikes, walking, playing, and grilling out. I love this time of year. The local kids are out playing baseball at the parks and hanging around on the monkey bars with their friends. Spring Fever is eating me alive!
This is also the time when we start planning our family vacations. Disney World is usually our first choice. We drive down over night and hit the parks first thing in the morning. Magic Kingdom starts us off every time. Yes, we have a lot of rituals on our Disney trips so just go with it. We enter the park and head straight down Main Street taking pictures in front of Cinderella’s castle. After that, Pirates, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain are our first rides. Dead men tell no tales and Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah get stuck in our heads all day. We head on around to Haunted Mansion and hit a bunch of shops and shows on the way. I am now getting Disney fever. I have to stop with that for now. You get the point though we stay at Magic Kingdom all day and end our first day eating dinner at ‘Ohana in the Polynesian resort. Goodness, I can taste it now! So much food, it can knock you out right at the table.
Throughout the week, we will spend a whole lot of time at all of the parks. We park hop for 9 days. We can take our time and do everything we want at our own pace. It’s great staying on site for the longer trips because you can go back to the room in the hot busy time of days and just chill for a while and head back to the parks later for fireworks or more rides. Good times. There is nothing like the memories that we make on these trips. If I could pack right now and leave tonight I would. Life should be a big vacation with the family. There is nothing like it. Well, back to work I go.
