Niagara Falls-Who Knew

Disclosure*****I received complimentary Passes into some of the attractions but all opinions are 100% my own*****

So, my first ever idea of what Niagara Falls looked like came from Superman. That’s right, Christopher Reeves flew as the man of steel down into the falls to catch the boy who fell off the rail. I have since had that visual in my head of what the falls really looked like. Boy was I wrong!

Back in July, we headed out on another #ReasonerRoadTrip that took us up to Sheboygan Wisconsin over to Niagara Falls down to New York City and back to Tennessee. In the Middle of that trip, we visited Niagara Falls with our Niagara Falls Discovery Passes courtesy of Niagara-USA .

When, we arrived at the park, we headed down to the roar of the water. Our first view was incredible! We were standing up near the top of American Falls. Now I didn’t realize that this was not Horseshoe Falls but I was still just Amazed! We stopped an took a bunch of pictures and Kas did a Periscope before we moved on.

We grabbed the kids and headed in to the elevator that would take us down to the Maid of The Mist. This was where you board the boat on the American side and go down below the falls. I did not really know how magnificent and how powerful that this could be at the same time but I was sure about to find out.

Our boat headed out. First, we passed by American Falls on our left hand side. It was absolutely stunning. You could see the series of steps and decks that led up to The Cave of the Winds. That is something that we let the kids do later on in the day. They loved it by the way. Anyway, we slowly came up to Horseshoe Falls…….NO WORDS……..I have never felt the way that I did right then. The beauty was breathtaking and,  as they moved us closer to the falls, the powerful force of the water was overwhelming to say the least. It is an absolute must do in your lifetime.

Well, we went back to shore and sent the kids off to Cave of the Winds. As I said before, they had a great time and loved being that close to the water. They told us that they were so close that it would come across the decks. It was cool letting Gabriel take and protect his baby sister on such a great adventure.

It didn’t take long for us to work up a big appetite. Luckily for us, there was a restaurant near the top of Horseshoe Falls called Top of the Falls Restaurant. We enjoyed the food and the great view of the falls from our window seat.

After we ate, we walked down a little to the very top of the falls and watched to water fall to the river below. The whole day was a fantastic family getaway and made memories that we will never forget. We left that day knowing that we will be going back at some point and to stay away from the edge because Superman may be a little busy at the moment so we shouldn’t risk it. Great day!
